Sabers knockout Tri-County 18-6 in baseball

Twin Cedars delivered a knockout punch to Tri-County July 2 by winning 18-6.

The contest was called by the 10-run rule after the fifth.

Nathan Smith earned the win on the hill with two innings of work. He allowed four hits and three earned runs.

Freshman Dallas Clark finished the pitching duties for TC with three innings of relief.

Zach Peterson, Smith, Jace Nichols and Brock DenBurger each had two hits for the Sabers.

Daniel Beary hit a double and had five RBI for TC.

Adding two RBI each for TC were Kade Dunkin, Smith, Hunter McCombs, Clark, Nichols and Braden DenBurger.

TC improved to 12-11 overall with the win on the road.

District play opens Saturday with the Sabers facing Seymour in Moravia starting at 5 p.m.
