The Melcher-Dallas Saints held a mark of 8-3 overall after they swept a pair of league games in volleyball over Orient-Macksburg and Mormon Trail Sept. 24 in Orient.

The Saints beat the host team 20-25, 25-23, 15-13 and they turned around to knock off Mormon Trail 26-24, 25-14.

It marked the third time this year that Coach Jesyka Nolte’s squad had topped the MT Saints.

In the win over the O-M Bulldogs, the Saints had 14 kills from Kynser Reed and seven from Grace Overgaard.

Riley Enfield was 12-of-13 serving and collected 20 assists. Karlee Lovell was 11-of-11 serving.

Riley Enfield added 15 digs and Lovell contributed 14.

Coach Nolte stated, “We played great defense and it showed because as a team we had almost 80 digs. The game was close but we came away with the win after coming from behind.”

Against Trail the Saints had four kills each from Elly Milburn and Overgaard. Reed and Haley Godfrey each added three.

Enfield had three ace serves and Godfrey finished with two.

Enfield added 13 digs, Lilly Bennett and Emma Heaberlin both had seven.

Nolte stated, “I did some substituting because we were so far ahead in the first game and the wheels just about feel off the cart.”
