The Melcher-Dallas Saints entered the second full week of June with a record of 8-1 overall.

The Saints made their annual summer time trip to the Northwood-Kensett Softball Tournament and they came away as champions.

M-D beat the host team, the N-K Vikings 16-4 with a 12-hit attack. Next came a huge 10-0 victory against Lake Mills in 5-innings Saturday.

In the Lake Mills contest, Riley Enfield hit a home run and had three RBI for Coach Jim Crozier’s squad.

Emilie Krpan had two hits and platted two to back her own pitching performance.

Krpan gave up three hits, fanned six and walked nobody in topping Lake Mills.

Against Northwood-Kensett the Saints scored six runs in each of the first two innings and they coasted home from their.

Riley Enfield, Kynser Reed and DoraMae Bennett each had two hits for the Saints. Bennett drove in four runs, while R. Enfield, Brie Anna Remster and Gracie Mann each had two RBI.

Krpan pitched all six innings striking out eight and walking three, while allowing six hits and no earned runs.
