The Melcher-Dallas Saints are one of those teams hanging around the .500 mark for the year.
Coach Jim Wells’ team stood at 9-10 overall following back-to-back wins over Tri-County Feb. 3 at home and over Colfax-Mingo 66-56 on the road three days later.
In the win over the Tri-County Trojans the Saints tallied 83 points. It tied the season high by the team for the year with the 83-62 win.
The Saints simply had too much as Steven Krpan, Ryan Krpan and Joe Branson each had 17 points overall. Leading the way for the Saints however was junior Lane Vander Linden with 22.
That triumph was followed by a win over the C-M Tiger-Hawks 66-56.
Vander Linden again was the M-D leader with a game high 29 points. He also had seven rebounds and eight steals in the game.
The Krpan twins were next in scoring for M-D with 19 by Steven Krpan and 12 turned in by Ryan Krpan.
Colfax-Mingo slipped to 13-7 with the loss. They put three players in double digits led by Jake Nichols with 17 and David Rague with 15.
M-D rallied from a 43-38 deficit to start the fourth quarter.
