It is tough to win in sports when you lose the turnover battle.

It has been an issue that has plagued the Twin Cedars Sabers throughout much of the 2019 campaign.

Last Friday was no exception as the Sabers dropped their home finale of the 2019 season 72-20 to Collins-Maxwell.

The Sabers fell to 1-8 overall with the setback while C-M improved to 5-4.

TC gave up nine costly turnovers to the Spartans. The Sabers lost three fumbles and they threw six pass interceptions.

Toss in a touchdown by the Spartans special teams unit and it was an uphill climb for the Sabers. The Spartans returned a Saber punt 22-yards for a score with Kadin Bennett on the return.

Bennett also threw for four touchdowns and he ran for three more in leading the Spartans to 72 points in the game.

TC did manage to pick off three passes in the game.

Saber statistics were not available at press time for this story.
