Knoxville was 1-3 last week on the baseball field. The week ended with a trip to northern Iowa where they faced Forest City Friday and powerful Mason City Newman Catholic Saturday.
The Panther mark stood at 8-24 following the trip.
The lone win came against Forest City, who slipped to 17-8 overall.
Knoxville knocked off Forest City 6-2 after rallying from a 3-2 deficit with four runs in the final two innings of action.
Kaleb Streigle worked 6.2 innings for the win. He gave up four hits and two earned runs, fanned seven and walked two.
Mike Hudson had the hot bat going 4-for-4 with two RBI.
Also on the northern adventure the Panthers lost to Mason City Newman 17-3. The Knights are the No. 1 ranked team in Class 1A.
The Knights scored seven runs in the first and nine in the fourth for the win.
Hudson and Streigle each had two hits against the Knights.
Also during the week was a 8-4 setback at home to Gilbert, ranked No. 6 in 3A.
Carter Bailey took the loss on the mound.
Ben Olson had two hits, one being a 3-run home run. Hudson and Bailey also had two hits.
Nevada topped the Panthers 5-4 July 1 on the road.
It was the eighth KHS loss by one or two runs this year.
Colton Jones had three hits and two RBI and Olson added two more hits.
