With the 2019 portion of dual meets behind them the Pleasantville Trojan wrestling team stands at 5-3 overall.
Back on Dec. 17 the Trojans beat AC/GC in WCAC action 55-18 and they knocked off East Mills 51-30.
In the big win over Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center, who hosted the meet, the Trojans had pins from Kitt Lundy, Jacob Hiemstra and Jake DeJoode.
Coach Heath DeForest’s team also had five forfeits issued to his squad.
Winning with forfeits were Ross Stephens, Cale Anthony, Matthew Kauffman, Devon Luing and Brock Jones.
Michael McGriff claimed a 7-1 win and Isaac Mann was victorious 12-1.
In the triumph over East Mills Pleasantville again benefitted from four forfeits being issued, Luing, Brynn Miller, Mann and DeJoode.
Pleasantville pins for the night belonged to Brock Jones, Hiemstra, Anthony and Kauffman.
Kitt Lundy muscled his way to a 3-0 decision win at 138 pounds.
Back on Dec. 10 the Trojans won one of three matches at the Trojan Duals in Pleasantville.
PHS beat the PCM (Monroe) Mustangs 60-18 but fell to Bondurant-Farrar 72-10 and to Sigourney-Keota 60-24.
In the win over PCM, the Trojans had five forfeits issued to the team and they won with five pins. Earning pins were Stephens, Dillen Ammons, Anthony, Kauffman and Jones.
The pin for Anthony came in just 19 seconds.
Pleasantville’s two wins over B-F were by Anthony and Kauffman.
The wins over Sigourney-Keota were by Anthony with a pin and forfeits issued to Hiemstra, Kauffman and Sayde Mull.
The season opened with the Trojans beating Moravia 51-23 and S.E. Warren/Melcher-Dallas 43-42 along with a 42-36 setback to Martensdale-St. Mary’s.
