The Pleasantville Trojans check in at 5-8 following action at the Colo-Nesco Baseball Tournament Saturday, June 8.
The Trojans earned a split at the tourney, knocking off the host team Colo-Nesco 22-6 and falling to Webster City 5-4 in 9-innings.
It was a 3-3 contest through 8-innings. Webster City scored twice in the top of the ninth and the Trojans countered with one in the bottom half, but it wasn’t enough.
Cael Berglund took the pitching defeat for the Trojans in relief of sophomore starter Austin McMillan, who went six full on the mound.
Wyatt Clark was the lone Trojan with two hits as Coach Sheldon Card’s team had six hits total. Clark also had two of the RBI along with Cael Lester.
The Trojans beat Colo-Nesco 22-6 by scoring 19 runs in the fourth inning.
Jeremy Colboth was the winning pitcher for the Trojans in relief of starter Kaydin Dyer.
Pleasantville actually trailed in the game 4-2, before the big outburst in the fourth.
Collecting two hits each for the Trojans were Quintin Berglund, Clark, Grant Fouch and Max Hinners.
Cael Lester swatted a home run and drove in five runs. Q. Berglund had four RBI and Cael Berglund plated two.
