A 66-27 win over the Centerville Redettes at home last Friday night enabled the Knoxville Panthers to wrap up at least a share of the South Central Conference title with a record of 10-0 in league play.
Centerville entered the game with just one league loss. But the Panthers put the visitors away early with quarter leads of 16-4, 29-10 and 52-21 en route to the huge win.
Knoxville, however isn’t satisfied on sharing the league title. There is still some unfished business to attend to in league play.
It marks Knoxville’s third straight league title.
In the end for the Panthers it was the same old story for the earlier games this year. Katie Keitges and Maggie Wilkins were a duo that couldn’t be stopped offensively.
The two work well together as Keitges had 28 points and Wilkins hit for 27. Both had four 3-point goals for the night.
The line for Keitges saw her with seven rebounds, eight assists and six steals. Wilkins, at 5’7” was the board leader for Knoxville with nine. She added six assists and five steals for her totals.
The rest of the KHS scoring had Emma Dunkin with five points, Charlee Heffron with four and Marley McKay with a deuce.
Knoxville improved to 16-1 for the season and 10-0 in league play.
