“Godspell” is a high-energy musical written by Stephen Schwartz and John-Michael Tebelak. It is based on a series of parables from the Gospels of Matthew and Luke, and at the end covers several events from Holy Week. “Godspell” is at times playful, silly, serious and deeply moving. It is the story of ordinary people finding community with God and each other.

The “Godspell” cast features Kamron Warden as Jesus and Shawn Pavlik in the dual roles of John the Baptist and Judas Iscariot. Eight contemporary disciples of Jesus are portrayed by Carol Adkins, Carla Bauer, Brian Black, Kadyn Boyd, Greg May, Lori Pearson, Chloe Roff and Anni Winward. Other followers of Jesus are played by Noa Bauer, Denise Becker, Kaylee Figland, Scott Humeston, Ryan Keep, Mackenzie Niday, Aliana Pearson and Morgan Pitt.

This show is directed by Marty Adkins, with musical direction by Kamron Warden and choreography by Mackenzie Niday.

This production is part of a partnership between K-ACT and the Knoxville Community School District. “Godspell” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International of New York, New York.
